DK with the OT Hundo Knockout!

It was one of those moments where I wish the official SkeeNation camera hadn’t already died for the night.Would have made a fantastic video….

Skee Como No (DK, Sniper, and O’Face) were all tied up with #skeeball (D Stone, Wheeler, and Sammy) after ten frames and were headed into overtime. It would be Wheeler vs. DK to see which team would get the victory.

Wheeler rolled first and put up a respectable 36.  DK stepped up to the lane, and a hush fell over the entire bar. She rolled her first 8 balls and looked up at the score — a 31 with one ball left. A 50 would tie and a Hundo would win. The whole crowd was now yelling a mix of “Go for the tie! Hit a 50!” and  “F*ck a tie, go for the win!” An overwhelmed Danielle stood against the wall, contemplating her decision. Her opponents were shouting, her skeemates were chirping in, the crowd was going crazy.

Finally she stepped up to the lane, took a breath and let her 9th and final ball traverse up the lane, up towards the Hundo hole……and in for the win!  The bar exploded as high-fives and hugs were passed around. But the three gentlemen of #skeeball looked defeated in the corner, as they couldn’t believe what had just happened.

When interviewed post-match, Jason Wheeler said “Ya know, it’s been a good run, man. It’s been fun. But I think it’s time for me to hang ‘em up and do what I think I was put on this earth to do. To go out to Hollywood and become a Luke Perry impersonator.”

So congrats to DK and good luck to Wheeler!
