First of all, I have to respond to a few of the Facebook comments on my last article. Yes, I need a nickname. I’m usually adamant that you can’t give yourself a nickname, but if Duke calls me the Ghost Rider one more time I’m going to lose my freaking mind. How in the name of Zeus’ BUTTHOLE do you make that mistake? (Warning: If screaming about Zeus’ butthole is inappropriate at your place of work, then this video is not safe for work)

So without further ado, I name myself…Myskeerion. If you don’t know what that’s a reference to, that’s a good thing. You almost certainly lead a more fulfilling life than I do. (Editors Note: Umm, I have no freaking clue what this is. Please explain next week.)
Now, if you were left out of last week’s column and want to work your way into future columns…step your game up! Put up some big numbers or do something noteworthy off the lanes and I assure you you’ll get your mention. Which brings me to Eric Mendes, formerly of Super Skee Bros, who broke the news to his new teammates(Editors Note: He broke the news via a text to a non-team mate) that he may not be available this skeeson. Wow. Weren’t you paying attention in second grade? I before WE except when you SKEE. Team comes first! No excuses! You got somewhere better to be Oz Striker?
Now, to the action on the lanes. I was really impressed by the Week 1 scores…until I realized that with the new moneyball rule, I have no frame of reference. Everett Phillips broke 400 and six teams made it 1000, but how good is that? I think the rule will be fun come playoff time, but for now I can’t figure out what a good score is. There were definitely a few impressive performances, including Jenn Foxon and Yiannis Ifantides who are in the top 5 on Thursday as rookies. That’s not easy to do with this crew. Also impressive were Kelly Egan’s two full 40s and Brian Aldridge’s two combos. It’s amazing that even with two in week 1, Kelly is still behind Everett Phillips’ pace from last year.
In my advanced stat of the week, I took a look at who is utilizing the moneyball and who needs to focus a little bit more on that last shot.
Moneyballers (Largest scoring increase in Week 1 vs. Skeeson 2 average)
1) Debbie Nagle 41.3%
2) Jenn Minogue 36.3%
3) Jonathan Martin 33.7%
4) Maggie Ardell 28.9%
5) Andrew Newton 26.5%
Wait, how does the moneyball work? (Largest scoring decrease in Week 1 vs. Skeeson 2 average)
1) Stacey Burgess -8.8%
2) Justin Reis -5.1%
3) Jay-Jay Ortega -3.2%
4) Joe Stromer -1.7%
5) Allison Mallett -0.1%
That’s it for me. I do my best, but I do miss things from time to time so if there’s something you think I should be writing about then post it in the Facebook comments or let Duke know.

If you want a good reference for scores in a money ball skeeson, see Raleigh. We just completed the money ball skeeson.

Top 4 teams were supposed “super teams”.
