This is why he’s still #1….

by Farrell on June 3, 2010

I realized yesterday that I never actually posted the video of Brandon’s Full 50 from Week 1.  Keep in mind he had two that night.  And as you can see on the clip, he called this one.  Kinda impressive.  And by kinda I mean super.

There’s been a lot of sh*t talking from some folks (mainly Raleigh) about how The Marksman is over-rated and blah blah blah.  So I’m gonna go ahead and address all that nonsense right now.

The kid has 4 Chalices to his name.  And I’m not even opening the archives to calculate all of the MVSkee, High Roller, Hundo, Full 40, etc etc trophies that adorn his walls.  He’s also graced more Rolling Times covers than any other skeelebrity to play in the league.

Sure, Skee Gen X (Raleigh) threw up some crazy high scores last skeeson, but so did the entire city of Raleigh.  Rookies, vets, scrubs, everyone was nailing hundos…and everyone who played up there will admit things got a little crazy.  I’m a purist so I’m not a big fan of hundos to begin with, unless it’s your last ball and you need it.  Harris can go hundo, 40 or 50.  He rolled a 370 in Week 3 without dropping a single hundo.  All up the middle, mostly 50s.  I’d like to see El Duke or Burgundy roll a 370 up the middle. The kid is the best there’s ever been and for now he’s still Top Dog until someone knocks him off.  Which, last time I checked, was…..a very long time ago.  He won Skeeson X (both the Chalice and High Roller), sat out Skeeson XI, and absolutely dominated in the Super Roll.

So go ahead and cue the haters in the comments section.  Harris is over-rated, Farrell’s on his nuts, blah blah blah.   Long story short, until someone can beat him, he’s still the best.  We’ll see all the haters in November for Super Roll II.

PS I should have held off on this column until tomorrow.  Week 1 of Raleigh Skeeson V is tonight.  Sh*t.

PPS  Below is a Rolling Times cover from Skeeson VIII when Google ranked him as the #1 skeeballer in America.  When you’d type in “#1 skeeballer in America” it would say Did you mean Brandon “The Makers Marksman” Harris? True story….I’ve still got the screenshot saved if anyone wants to see it.  I don’t think the Google search works anymore, but at one point even Google knew the deal.

Please. I've been in the Final 4 numerous times as well, and NEVER created an ALL-STAR squad, like Gen X did. Also won the Chalice with 4 DIFFERENT teams. I missed MVSkee in Skeeson 2 by .10 point, in my 1st year in the league. Still shaking the cobwebs off my arm, after over a 6 month hiatus, but still managed to roll 2 Full 50s in my 1st match back. I will handle you in any city, and my squad will handle yours on any machine.

I'm drinking this Kool-Aid. I got plenty of Raleigh pride, but when dude has more chalices than some people in Raleigh have skeesons played, then its a little premature. Skee Gen X has the numbers in a season, but yeah, its time to mix it up in Charlotte. Not for one game. Maybe a match. Maybe 3 out of 5 matches. Thats the thing. The machines are different like bowling lanes are different. By the same token, come to Raleigh and roll a match or few.

Bottom line, more clappin' and less yappin'.
